PHP 8.2+MySQL / MariaDBClean URL8-step installer

1. Introduction

Welcome to BizCore ERP.

This guide explains how to install BizCore ERP on your local computer or web hosting server. The installation process is designed to be simple and does not require advanced technical knowledge.

Welcome→Requirements→Database→SQL File→Installation→Configuration→Finalize→Complete

2. Before You Begin

Before starting the installation, make sure you have:

  • BizCore ERP commercial package
  • A supported PHP environment
  • MySQL or MariaDB
  • A database and database user
  • Access to your hosting control panel or local server
  • Permission to write to the BizCore writable/ directory
  • Your BizCore license information
Important: BizCore uses SQL import for installation. You do not need to manually run database migrations or seeders. The BizCore SQL database file is included with the commercial package and is detected automatically by the installer.

3. System Requirements

Make sure the server meets these requirements before installation.

PHP8.2 or higher
DatabaseMySQL / MariaDB
MySQLiRequired
MBStringRequired
IntlRequired
cURLRequired
FileinfoRequired
OpenSSLRequired
JSONRequired
writable/Writable
Web ServerApache recommended

4. Installing on XAMPP / Localhost

Step 1 — Install XAMPP

Install XAMPP with a supported PHP version. Make sure the PHP version is 8.2 or higher.

Step 2 — Start Apache and MySQL

Open the XAMPP Control Panel and start Apache and MySQL.

Step 3 — Upload BizCore

Extract the BizCore package into your XAMPP web directory, normally:

C:\xampp\htdocs\

For example:

C:\xampp\htdocs\BizCoreERP\

Step 4 — Create the Database

Open phpMyAdmin from XAMPP and create a new MySQL/MariaDB database. You may choose any suitable database name, such as BizCoreERP or BizCore_ERP.

Step 5 — Open BizCore

Open BizCore in your browser, for example:

http://localhost/BizCoreERP/

5. Installing on Shared Hosting

Step 1 — Create a Database

Open your hosting control panel and create a MySQL/MariaDB database, database username, and database password. Your hosting provider may automatically add a prefix to the database name; this is normal.

Step 2 — Upload BizCore

Upload the BizCore commercial ZIP to your hosting account and extract it into the appropriate website directory.

Step 3 — Open Your Domain

Open your domain in a browser, for example https://example.com/. The BizCore installation wizard should appear automatically.

Clean URL: You should not normally need to add /public to the customer-facing URL.

6. Step 1 — Welcome

The first installation screen welcomes you to BizCore ERP. Review the information and click Start Installation. The installer will then take you to the system requirements screen.

7. Step 2 — System Requirements

BizCore checks whether your server is ready, including the PHP version, required extensions, and writable directory.

All Checks Passed: Click Continue to proceed.
A Requirement Failed: Use the How to fix this guide shown beside the failed requirement.

8. How to Enable a PHP Extension

Windows / XAMPP

  1. Open XAMPP Control Panel.
  2. Click Config next to Apache.
  3. Select PHP (php.ini).
  4. Search for the required extension.
  5. If the extension line starts with ;, remove the semicolon.
  6. Save php.ini.
  7. Restart Apache.
  8. Return to BizCore.

PHP Local Server

  1. If you are using php spark serve, the PHP configuration used by that command is important.
  2. Run php --ini to identify the loaded php.ini file.
  3. Run php -v to check the PHP version.
  4. Enable the required extension and save the configuration.
  5. Stop and start the PHP server again.

Shared Hosting

  1. Open your hosting control panel.
  2. Look for PHP Selector, PHP Extensions, or PHP Configuration.
  3. Enable the required extension and save.
  4. If the extension is unavailable, contact your hosting provider.

9. Re-checking Requirements

If you have just changed the PHP version or enabled a PHP extension, the PHP process may still be using the previous configuration.

  1. Save your PHP configuration.
  2. Restart Apache/PHP or the relevant server service.
  3. Return to the BizCore installer.
  4. Re-check the requirements.
Important: Changing php.ini does not necessarily change the configuration of an already-running PHP process. Restarting the relevant service may therefore be required.

10. Writable Directory

BizCore requires the writable/ directory to be writable. It is used for cache, sessions, logs, and other runtime files.

Windows / XAMPP

  1. Open the BizCore installation directory.
  2. Locate the writable folder.
  3. Open Properties → Security.
  4. Make sure the PHP/web-server user can write to the directory.
  5. Apply the changes.

Shared Hosting

  1. Open File Manager or FTP.
  2. Locate the BizCore writable/ directory.
  3. Ensure PHP/the web-server user can write to it.
  4. Apply the permissions recommended by your hosting provider.
Do not make the entire BizCore application directory writable unnecessarily.

11. Step 3 — Database Configuration

The database must be created manually before continuing.

Database HostUsually localhost; hosting may provide another host.
Database PortUsually 3306.
Database NameEnter the database you created.
Database UsernameEnter your MySQL/MariaDB username.
Database PasswordEnter your database password.

Then click Test Database Connection. If successful, the installer continues to SQL-file selection.

12. Database Name and SQL Filename

The database name and SQL filename do not need to be identical.

Database: u123456789_BizCore_ERP SQL file: bizcore_erp.sql

This is completely normal. The SQL file is imported into the database selected during Step 3.

13. Step 4 — Choose the BizCore SQL File

BizCore uses one database installation method: SQL Import. The installer automatically detects the included BizCore SQL file.

Ready: If the file is available and valid, continue to the installation step.

Manual Fallback

If the automatic SQL file cannot be detected or used, the installer provides a manual file-selection option. Select a valid BizCore .sql file and allow the installer to validate it.

14. Step 5 — Install BizCore ERP

At this stage, the database connection and SQL file have been verified. Click Start Installation.

The installer will:

  1. Import the BizCore database.
  2. Verify the imported database.
  3. Finalize the installation.
Do not close the browser or stop the server while the installation is running.

If the installation fails, the installer displays an error and provides an option to retry.

15. Default Data

The commercial BizCore SQL database already contains the required initial data, including:

Default Company
Default Branch
Administrator Account
Administrator Role
Administrator Permissions

Customers therefore do not need to manually create these items during installation.

16. Step 6 — Application Configuration

The installer asks for the URL customers will use to access BizCore ERP.

Localhost: http://localhost/BizCoreERP/ Domain: https://example.com/

The installer prepares the application configuration and generates the required encryption key automatically. The application environment is configured for production.

17. Clean URL

BizCore is designed so customers normally access the application without adding /public.

Preferred: https://example.com/ Not normally required: https://example.com/public/

On compatible Apache hosting, the included .htaccess configuration handles the required routing.

18. Step 7 — Finalize & Secure Installation

Once the database and application configuration are ready, BizCore verifies the installation.

  • Database installation completed
  • Application configuration saved
  • Default Administrator verified
  • Installer ready to be locked

Click Secure & Finish Installation.

Important: After this step, the installation wizard is locked. This prevents the installation process from being run again on an already-installed system.

19. Step 8 — Installation Complete

After successful installation, BizCore confirms that the database, application configuration, and installation security are complete. The default Administrator credentials are also displayed.

Keep your credentials secure.

Click Go to BizCore ERP.

20. First Login

Enter the Administrator credentials displayed on the installation-complete screen.

After login, BizCore will require license activation.

21. License Activation

BizCore uses a commercial license activation system.

Installation Complete→Login→License Activation→BizCore ERP

Follow the license activation instructions provided with your purchase. Once the license is successfully activated, you can use BizCore ERP normally.

22. Configure Your Company

After entering BizCore ERP, open the Company section and update your company's information.

You can configure company information including currency and time zone. Choose the appropriate settings for your business.

23. Configure Your Branch

Open the Branch section and review the default branch. You can edit the existing branch, update branch information, configure business location/details, and add additional branches if supported by your ERP configuration.

24. Administrator Account

BizCore includes a default Administrator account. The Administrator role already has the required administrator permissions.

You can manage users and permissions from the relevant User/Administration sections. For security, customers are encouraged to change default credentials after their first successful login.

25. Important Installation Notes

  • Do not delete the SQL file before installation. The commercial installer requires the included SQL database file.
  • Do not delete public/index.php. It is the main CodeIgniter application entry point.
  • Do not delete .htaccess. The files are required for the intended Apache routing and clean-URL behavior.
  • Do not delete vendor/. It contains required application dependencies.
  • Do not manually delete application directories.
  • Only remove files or directories when specifically instructed by BizCore support.

26. Common Problems

“PHP version requirement failed”

Install or select PHP 8.2 or higher and make sure the web server is actually using that PHP version.

“PHP extension is not enabled”

Open your PHP configuration, enable the required extension, restart the relevant PHP/Apache service, and return to the requirements screen.

“Writable directory is not writable”

Give the writable/ directory the appropriate write permissions for the PHP/web-server user.

“Database connection failed”

Check the database host, port, database name, username, password, and MySQL/MariaDB service status.

“SQL file unavailable”

Make sure the included BizCore SQL file is present in the commercial package and has not been moved or renamed. If automatic detection fails, use the installer's manual SQL file selection option.

“Site cannot be reached after clicking Start Installation”

Check that Apache/PHP is running, the BizCore URL is correct, the application was uploaded/extracted correctly, and the server supports the required URL rewriting configuration. If the problem persists, contact BizCore support.

27. After Installation Checklist

  • BizCore opens successfully
  • License has been activated
  • Company information is correct
  • Currency is correct
  • Time zone is correct
  • Default branch information is correct
  • Administrator login works

  • Application pages load correctly
  • Database is accessible
  • Backup procedures have been configured according to your organization's requirements
